Zaanferry Tour of the Zaan River

Pick up the ferry in Zaanse Schans, take it to Zaandam and visit Czar Peter's House and have lunch at De Koperen Bel. Next take the southern Zaanferry to Amsterdam Central Station. Take the Lover's 1 hour cruise. Then back to the station to pick up the F3 ferry to Bulksloterweg and visit A-Dam Lookout. Then back to central station for the train ride back to Boutique Hotel Zaan.

9:15 am – Walk to Zaanferry dock
Walk over the river to Kalverringdijk and take a left.
Walk up Kalverringdijk about a ¼ of a mile to where it takes a righthand curve.
At the end of the curve, the ferry dock is on the left.

9:30 am – Pick up the Zaanferry heading north
Use your Iamsterdam City Card for passage.
Take the ferry as far as Zaandam Centrum and get off.
From the ferry dock, walk west to Westzijde and turn left (south) to Gedempte Gracht and turn right (west).
Do a U-turn around highway
Continue west on Gedempte Gracht 56 m,
turn left (south) toward Gedempte Gracht 18 m,
turn left (east) onto Gedempte Gracht 36 m
Turn right onto Zilverpadsteeg 57 m, turn right to stay on Zilverpadsteeg 7 m, turn left to stay on Zilverpadsteeg 89 m
Turn right onto Czaar Peterstraat 8 m
Turn left onto Krimp, Czar Peters House will be on the right.

This restaurant is about halfway between the northern and southern Zaanferry docks.
De Koperen opens at 11:00 am.

From Czar Peter's House
Head north on Krimp toward Czaar Peterstraat 120 m
Turn right onto Czaar Peterstraat 61 m
Turn left onto Dam 98 m, turn right to stay on Dam, restaurant will be on the right.
The Zaandam Lock
From Café Restaurant De Koperen Bel, head east on Dam toward Wilhelminakade
Turn right onto Wilhelminakade and stay on it to Wilhelminastraat.
Cross Wilhelminastraat and walk down the stairs to the wharf. Hopefully you’ll find a Zaanferry boat there.
Route to Lover's Cafe from the Ferry

In 2018 they started a 5-year project to renovate the square and canal area to the southwest of Amsterdam Central Station. The Lover's Canal Cruise Office/Cafe is on the northwest side of the street that is next to the construction and appears to be unaffected. We'll have to reexamine pickup point for the cruise early next year to confirm the directions.
This is about a 1-hour tour that starts just southwest of the Amsterdam Central Train Station at Prins Hendrikkade 25.

From the ferry dock north of central station head southeast on De Ruijterkade 85m
Turn left (to the southwest) toward Cuyperspassage 31 m
Take the pedestrian tunnel southwest140 m
Continue southwest onto Melkmarktsbrug/Westelijke Toegangsbrug 82 m
Turn right onto Prins Hendrikkade 22 m.
The Lover's Canal cruise is on the right.
Restaurant, thrill swing, view of the city at the A'Dam Lookout.

It's a free ferry ride across the river from Amsterdam Central Station and then a 5 minute walk to the west.

4:05 pm - Walk to A-Dam from Lover’s Cafe
From Prins Hendrikkade 25, 1012 TM Amsterdam, Netherlands head southeast toward on Prins Hendrikkade to Melkmarktsbrug/Westelijke Toegangsbrug and turn left onto Melkmarktsbrug/Westelijke Toegangsbrug and continue straight onto Stationsplein. Take the pedestrian tunnel 160 m to the docks.
Take the Centraal Station - Buiksloterweg F3 ferry
Turn left onto Buiksloterweg and then a slight left onto IJpromenade
In 110 m and turn right toward Overhoeksplein.
In 92 m turn left onto Overhoeksplein
A'DAM Lookout is at Overhoeksplein 5, 1031 KS Amsterdam, Netherlands
Travel to the Boutique Hotel Zaan
from the
A'Dam Lookout
5:45 pm – Walk from A'Dam Lookout to the F3 Ferry Dock
Head southeast on Overhoeksplei and turn right at Badhuiskade
Turn left onto IJpromenade/Volewijckbrug
Continue to follow IJpromenade and then onto Buiksloterweg
The ferry dock is at the end of Buiksloterweg

6:13pm - Take Sprinter 4058 from Amsterdam Central Station to Zaandijk, Zaanse Schrans
6:30 pm - Walk to Boutique Hotel Zaan.
From train station use walkway under the road and tracks east to Stationstraat and continue east to Hoogstraat.
Turn left on Hoogstraat (which morphs into Lagedijk) and walk north to Guisweg (aka Julianabrug)
The hotel will be across the highway on the northeast corner of the intersection.
